August 2, 2022 — Uyeno Group Holdings Ltd. announced that Oxalis Chemicals Ltd., a chemical trading company belonging to the Uyeno Group, entered an exclusive distributor agreement for the Japan region with Therma-Chem on June 5, 2022. Therma-Chem specializes in the manufacture and application of FS12, a proprietary chemical product, and markets it globally.

Therma-Chem is a Scottish (UK) company specializing in the manufacture and sale of its proprietary chemical FS12, a mildly alkaline solution containing nitrates that is offered in IBC containers and sold in more than 30 countries around the world.

FS12 is a mildly alkaline solution containing nitrates that was specifically designed to enable in-furnace cleaning during operation (online cleaning) of coal-fired boilers in thermal power plants and IPP boilers (residual oil and asphalt pitch-fired) in petroleum refineries. FS12 is injected directly into the combustion chamber using Therma-Chem's proprietary injection system. Once injected, it vaporizes and is carried by the flue gas to all heat transfer surfaces including the combustion chamber, superheater, economizer, air preheater and electrostatic precipitator. Then, it reacts with slagging and fouling on the water pipes in the reactor and, by raising the melting point, transforms them into a soft powdery ash to help remove them. FS12 provides benefits such as recovering and increasing production capacity by improving the heat transfer of each boiler, reducing emissions of CO2/NOx/SOx by up to 20% (UN approved), and preventing both high and low temperature corrosion.

In Japan, FS12 has started to be used in the IPP boilers of major oil companies and the power boilers of major chemical manufacturers.

This exclusive distributor agreement will enable the Uyeno Group to help build a decarbonized society as it further strengthens its sales network in Japan.
